Lovely readers, I hope you had a wonderful new year!
I hope that you made memories to remember by simply being present to whatever you were doing, no matter how ordinary or extraordinary it might have been.
I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking 2020 is going to be my best year yet.
Aside from the life stuff that I know I have zero control over – “whatever happens, I’ll handle it” – I’m feeling pretty determined to take control where I can this year.
I’m not talking about resolutions – they’ve rarely worked for me.
This year, I’m taking on board Mel Robbin’s super-simple approach, and selecting a word for the year.
My word is one that has come to me time and time again this year, and where it has, it’s always proven beneficial. When I’ve felt anxious, afraid and hopeless, this word has given me comfort, strength, resilience and character.
My word is BOLD.
Resolutions for me just end up being so complicated and diluted that by February, you can’t even remember the reasons behind the changes you’re making, let alone get yourself to put the cake down!
If I simply strive to be bold, however, in whatever situation I’m in, then I’ll reap the benefits in many different situations. And where I don’t, it won’t matter – because my measure of success is simply to be bold and not dependent on any particular outcome.
Of course, I’ll keep you updated.
And if you like the sound of this simplified approach to #lifegoals, maybe decide on which world you would choose for 2020 and feel free to share in the comments below.
