Happy 2018 – Day 238 – A Quote about Belief

In keeping with our current theme of Belief, here’s an awesome quote from Nineteenth century British Philosopher, James Allen:

“The outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state…Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.”

It’s just common sense right? If you see someone who is always *insert negative emotion here*…. it’s because their beliefs are working against them.

If someone has a belief that they’re worth less than others, their life choices will reflect this in some, many or all areas of their lives. Maybe they’re in a dead-end job, turning away amazing career opportunities. Perhaps they stay in a failing relationship, putting up with what they shouldn’t, believing that they don’t deserve more.

On the other hand, if someone believes that they’re somehow special, and worth more than others, you might well find them in a highly ‘successful’ job. But what will their relationships with others be like? How will they treat others and how will those same others really feel about them? How will they cope with setbacks, failure and rejection?

Consider your life now for what it looks like on the outside. What does your life say about your beliefs?  Do you like what you see? Are these any changes that you want to make?
