It’s tempting to feel sad when August is over; to wish that the balmy, breeze Summer days would last forever. The older I get though, I see that the best of days are only the best because they end; they leave us still wanting. If Summer did last forever, it would soon lose it’s magnetic appeal.
And besides – September is fabulous!
So with that in mind, here’s a quote today from Helen Hunt Jackson:
“By all these lovely tokens September days are here, With Summer’s best of weather and Autumn’s best of cheer.”
Summer is gone yes… but Autumn is coming, and it’s beautifully different.
