So often in life, we tell ourselves a story about what isn’t achievable or possible. We tell ourselves that we just can’t; blaming either circumstances outside of control or believing that our bodies just can’t capable.
I can’t manage that morning run because I ate pizza last night and I barely slept.
I can’t run that fast because I’m just not a natural runner.
I can’t run that far because I’ll just keel over.
Let me tell you, as someone who is not a ‘runner’ in any way; someone who always told myself that I couldn’t run far or fast or sometimes at all; that this is all fake news. I’ve personally managed to run further and faster than I ever thought possible, even after pizza-fueled evenings and sleepless nights.
If there’s anything I’ve learned over the past decade’s love-to-hate relationship with exercise; it’s that the limits you place on your body are only real in your mind.
They’re actually much further away than you think.
