Today’s quote is from Ralph Waldo Emerson. It’s simple and perfect. He says:
“For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.”
Regardless of how big or small the wrongdoing that you’ve been victim to might be; whether you’re completely justified in your rage, or not; just know that if your energy is fueling potentially poisonous feelings like hatred, spite and self-pity (to name a few) then there’ll be no gas left for positive emotions like love, hope and peace.
It’s just the way it is – we can’t have both.
So maybe choose the one that feels better and stick with that.
