I think about this question a lot, especially when I’m breaking my own habits, when I’m eating junk food, avoiding hard situations, wallowing in misery etc. I’ve written at length about this in the past but I think it’s worth repeating, in its simplest, most straightforward form.
When you’re in place that you don’t like, acting like a lesser version of yourself, ask and answer these three questions:
1. Who do you want to be? What does your life look like? How do you think, speak and act?
2. Who are you right now? What does your life look like? How do you think, speak and act?
3. What steps must you take in order to bridge the gap, to get you from where you are to where you want to be?
If you’re honest about where you’re lacking, you can establish small, actionable steps that will take you from where you currently are to where you want to be.
And if nothing else, this will help you to come ‘unstuck’ and moving in the right direction.
